01What is ZIP?+
A meme coin on Ethereum. The character is Zip, Matt Furie's barback from the Starkraft Brewhouse on orbital ring X-14. Our story brings Zip down into Veridia, the country from Vitalik Buterin's novel Snowmoon, and pairs the token with zipcoin, the money from that book.
02What is ZC and why is ZIP paired with it?+
ZC is zipcoin, the currency of Snowmoon, shipped as an ERC-20 by zipcoin.cash. Our whole story is Zip entering that world, so the token trades against that world's money. There is one pool: ZIP/ZC on Uniswap v4. Uniswap can route from ETH through ZC for you.
03Is this affiliated with Matt Furie, Vitalik Buterin or zipcoin.cash?+
Zip is a character drawn by Matt Furie. We are not affiliated with Vitalik Buterin or with zipcoin.cash; Snowmoon is his novel, released under GPL v3, and zipcoin is their project. We are guests in both worlds and we say so everywhere.
04Is there a tax?+
No. 0% on buys, sells and transfers. There is no mint function and no blacklist. The pool itself charges Uniswap's 1% fee tier, which goes to the liquidity position (the keg) as tips.
05What are the house rules?+
Launch limits. While they are in effect, no transfer can be larger than 0.3% of supply (max pour) and no wallet can hold more than 2% (max tab). The owner can lift them once, and nothing can bring them back.
06What is "the door"?+
The trading switch. Trading starts closed. The owner opens it once by calling openDoor(). There is no function that closes it again.
07Where is the liquidity?+
In one Uniswap v4 position, which we call the keg. It was minted directly into the ZIP contract and zipped (time locked) there. While zipped, nobody can decrease or withdraw it. You can watch the timer on the cellar page and verify unzipTime on Etherscan.
08Can the owner rug?+
Not while the keg is zipped: the contract has no code path that decreases liquidity before unzipTime. The owner can collect swap fees (tips) at any time, extend the zip (only to a later date), and after the timer can unzip or burn the keg. The owner can not mint, tax, pause, blacklist, or move anyone's ZIP. Read the contract; it is short.
09Why not renounce ownership?+
Because the keg needs an owner to collect tips and, after the timer, to unzip. Everything the owner can do is listed on the brewhouse page. Judge us by the timer, not by promises.
10What does "zipped" mean here, versus on zipcoin.cash?+
On zipcoin.cash, zipping means putting coins into a privacy pool. Here it means the keg is locked in the cellar. Same word, same spirit: put it away where nobody can touch it.
11How was the first price set?+
We chose a target market cap in dollars, divided by the ZIP supply to get a dollar price, and divided by the ZC price to get the start price in ZC. The pool opened at the edge of the position's range, so only ZIP went in and the first buyer's ZC started filling the keg. The tab page shows the receipt.
12Is any of this financial advice?+
No. ZIP is a meme coin with no intrinsic value and no expectation of financial return. It is completely useless and for entertainment only. By buying ZIP you agree you have read this.
